Trilobe

Born in 1990, Gautier Massonneau is a graduate of Paris Dauphine University and Ponts et Chaussées. He began his career in the world of infrastructure financing (power plants and desalination plants), first in Japan, then in the Middle East and Dubai. At first glance, an ecosystem a thousand leagues from the hushed universe of Haute Horlogerie, but which nevertheless turns out to be quite close to the complexity, engineering and temporality of the development of a watchmaking project.

This professional experience was also the occasion of many incongruous journeys and thus as many opportunities to shake up one’s paradigms and cultural references. The son of an architect and decorator, Gautier Massonneau is also encouraged to awaken, to change perspectives, to mix materials and shapes, while respecting a certain tradition, always with this attraction for beauty and complexity.

At the time of affording his first collector’s watch, Gautier Massonneau encountered a challenge: the current watchmaking world tends to polarize around two extremes: tradition on the one hand, innovation on the other. This translates into an abundant and increasingly demanding offer from a technical point of view, but without much renewal. Gautier Massonneau then decided to invent and produce his own watch. Between rupture and continuity, it must be different, beautiful and timeless, while being classic in its outline.

The Trilobe project was born in 2013 and the brand was officially launched in 2018 in Paris.
